Even I Get Fake News….A605 Re-Opening

So I ask myself – why a Foreman on the Lindum Homes site told me there was a 2 to 3 week delay in completing the project.

We have this morning been informed via the official channels that the project should be completed by Thursday – weather permitting.

As If….. We Don’t Have Enough Rubbish & Litter

Increasingly as I am doing my now almost solatory Litter Picking campaign what am I now finding —– …. Discarded PPE – Gloves and Face Masks, yesterday I found and picked up 10 in one short session all in the town area, it would appear that when ‘some’ have finished with them they just throw them on the ground.

UK volunteers have seen a “massive” rise in the amount of single use masks discarded on beaches, high streets, canals and rivers. – Sky News Click Here

An estimated 194 billion disposable masks and gloves are being used worldwide every month as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a study in Environmental Science and Technology.

Most single use PPE is made from a variety of plastics, including polypropylene, polyethylene and vinyl.

Be Prepared For Delay – A605 – Peterborough Road

I and many are getting extremely frustrated with our County Council ‘Officials’ – they ‘appear’ not to know what is going on, and if they do have not informed us …..

Yesterday 12:00 I checked on The Hole at the Lindom Homes™ – Peterborough Road site and spoke with a foreman – who informed me that the ‘project’ may be delayed by 2 to 3 weeks…. is this going to be the expectation after all the ‘trumpets’ given out by our CCC leaders.

I tried from 1pm to contact 2 officers who are supposed to be communicating with Councillors – but alas – A sunny Friday afternoon – No replies what-so-ever.
As and when I get anything more ‘offical’ naturally I will post.
In the meantime ‘Be Prepared’

Is This The Final Farwell to Mr Jonathan Digby

As I head off in to semi retirement at the end of August, may I take this opportunity to thank you for the support that you have given me and the schools over the last 12 years and to wish you all the best for the future.

Jonathan has spent all his teaching career in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough starting back in 1988 teaching PE at Bassingbourn Village College. He then moved to Stanground College in Peterborough in 1991, initially as the Head of PE and then as Director of Sport, when the school became a Sports College. From there he went to Ramsey Abbey, which became Abbey College, as Deputy Headteacher and was then appointed as the Principal for Sir Harry Smith Community College in 2008. Following the creation of the new Aspire Learning Trust, he was appointed as the CEO in October 2016.

Missing Whittlesey Man

Have you seen missing Scott from Whittlesey?

We’re appealing for the public’s help to trace Scott Currie, 41, (pictured) who was reported missing from his home in Glenfields at about 6.40am today (6 August).

We’re becoming increasingly concerned for Scott’s welfare. Searches are being carried out in the Whittlesey area including the use of a drone as part of efforts to locate him.

Scott is described as 5’9”, of muscular build and with short blond hair. He was last seen leaving his home wearing a blue sports t-shirt, black shorts, distinctive red trainers and carrying a blue and grey backpack.

The CCTV image pictured here is of Scott leaving his home this morning.
Anyone who has seen Scott or who has information concerning his whereabouts should call 101 quoting incident 55 of 6 August.
