NWA NHS Trust Meeting

Yesterday I attended in my capacity as a member of the NorthWest Anglia NHS Trust (10+years) at the now normal ‘virtual video meeting’ there were a number of very disturbing complaints (COVID related) which the senior management team addressed –
unfortunately the old saying ‘lessons must be learnt’ was used yet again, that said all NHS and Care Workers have been under extreme pressure since the beginning of March.
Financially the Trust is still in deficit by some £5.9 million this year.

Saxon Pit – Update

Many would have seen the article in todays ‘PT’™ (Peterborough Telegraph)
A large recycling facility could be introduced at a former brickworks in Whittlesey.

Click here to read the article on The PT

There is of course loads of comments I believe on Social Media.
Read the headline —- ‘could be introduced’

Today I am receipt of a letter from the Environment Agency to MP Steve Barclay.
I am publishing this letter below – it has been sent to all WTC Councillors this afternoon.

I have sought permission to publish this letter from the EA and it comes under ‘ The Open Government Licence’

A consultation has been launched by Cambridgeshire County Council, with people able to share their views by writing into Rachel Jones at the authority’s Shire Hall office, or by emailing emma.fitch@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

More Than 200 COVID Related Deaths @ PCH…

In the East of England, there are five areas recording a rise in coronavirus case rates: Peterborough, Basildon, Ipswich, Harlow and North Norfolk.
The other 40 areas that make up Eastern England are all recording a fall in rates.

The seven-day rolling case rate for Peterborough in the week leading to November 24 was 209.1 per 100,000 people, with 423 new cases reported. This was slightly higher than the week prior, ending November 17, when the case rate was 206.2 and 417 new cases were recorded.

The whole of Eastern England is going into Tier 2 on Wednesday when lockdown measures are lifted.
The number of patients admitted to hospitals in the East of England over the last seven days was 692, which is a 4.4% increase on the week prior.

Public Health England data also states that six Covid-19 related deaths have been reported in Peterborough within the past seven days. The number of deaths at Peterborough City Hospital has now passed 200 since March 24.

Caroline Walker, chief executive for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 315 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 112 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 203 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”

We Like Trees….Watch Tonight @ 18:15 BBC Countryfile

For over 20 years Connie & I have supported various ‘Tree Planting Campaigns’ – alas no realy big push here in the Whittlesey area, even though we have been offered ‘free trees’ on many occasions.
Tonight on BBC1 – Countryfile the team launches ‘Plant Britain’ – we can all do our bit….

One of the largest organisations protecting our trees are ‘The Woodland Trust’® – the President being Broadcaster & Writer Clive Anderson.
