Latest COVID Stats Our Area…..
The latest stats are somewhat concerning, whilst we all know they lag behind by a number of days – a letter sent out to all residents within Fenland this week from FDC leader Cllr Chris Boden – stated that there was a trend of increasing numbers.
I am certainly not going to lecture or tell people how to live their lives – that is up to them – I am going to highlight where we are locally with COVID.
Just judging by the amount of traffic and numbers of people ‘shopping’ not only here by it would appear nationally – Maybe people are just fed up….that’s what I am hearing….
Make your own decisions….

Just The Latest Drug Bust – Wisbech This Time
| Your local neighbourhood team carried out seven warrants in Newbridge Lane, Wisbech, yesterday morning where they found 96 cannabis plants as well as cannabis which had already been harvested. Three men in their 30s were arrested and have since been released from custody pending further investigation. Two dogs were signed over to the local dog warden and weapons including a shotgun were seized. If you have information about the production or dealing of drugs, you can help us by reporting it online at https://bit.ly/37K8OTE.V |

Drink Driving Campaign Has Started…Do NOT Drink & Drive
| It’s disappointing to see our officers made 12 arrests for drink driving across the county this weekend, one of which was in Fenland. The driver was arrested in March and later charged with being nearly twice the legal drink drive limit. Did you know we have a dedicated hotline for members of the public to report drink driving to us? 0800 032 0845 is available 24/7, and gives you the chance to help us reduce the number of drink or drug drivers on our roads. For more information about drink or drug driving, the law and the dangers it can cause, as well as the confidential hotline, visit our website here -> https://bit.ly/3nZYihl.

KD – X Update
A message from Cllr Steve Count, Leader of Cambridgeshire County Council, said:
You may have seen the news that the earthworks in section one has been completed two months ahead of schedule, which is a fantastic achievement by the team. In case you missed it, please view it here: http://orlo.uk/0WujV
Jones Bros site team have also carried out a concrete pour, which included more than 20 tonnes of steel and 190m3 of concrete, this has created the base for the underpass.
The pictures below show the work taking place during the pour and what it looks like after.
In addition, the piling work for the railway bridge foundations has also been completed, with 12 piles dug 25m down into the clay underneath – that is the height of Buckingham Palace!
Stay safe everyone, keep well and follow the tier two: high alert local restrictions.
Kind Regards
Steve Count.
