Cllr David Mason has managed to get (2) new environmentally friendly park benches, installed in his ward area.
Had a look myself this afternoon, some of the broken parts are historic and NOT new.
However the attempts to set fire are fairly new…
Whittlesey Town Council / Whittlesey Street Pride / Glassmoor Wind Turbine Fund, investing hours and hours of our time, somewhere in the region of £10,000 to replace 8 Picnic Benches with Environmetally Friendly / 2 Accessible in the very near future.
This is what has happened today – does it give me motivation… These people maybe somewhat ‘idiots’ – am I allowed to say it…

I have already reported the quantity of waste materials/fly-tipping to Fenland District Council along the drove, 2nd left hand turning, off the B1040 driving out of Whittlesey and before Dog-in-a-Doublet Bridge.
An abandon trailer and other dumped metal items will be collected next week by FDC’s contractor Crowson’s.
FDC Rapid Response Team will set to work removing 3 x builder sacks containing insulation, rumble and other building materials – a pick-up track required due to the weight.
Other materials include cabling striped of the copper wiring, tyres and a collections of other materials including children’s broken toys should be cleared fully by the end of the week.
Appears to me that nearly everything is back to almost normal.

Currently, traffic builds up on the roundabout and all the way back into Stanground due to vehicles waiting to turn off the A605, but the new lane will allow drivers to pass by.
The project has run £500,000 over budget due to a “number of unforeseen factors” including works with gas distribution network Cadent, as well as “alternative design options and challenging site conditions”.
A spokesperson for Peterborough City Council said: “The dedicated right turn facility will be installed once a large BT Openreach chamber in the carriageway is decommissioned and removed as part of the planned BT diversionary works.
“BT will return to site the week commencing July 12 to complete their apparatus changeovers and to demolish the chamber. The right turn facility will be installed over three consecutive days commencing on July 26. We expect the project to be complete by the end of July.”
