KD X Update

A message from the King’s Dyke project team:

The first phase of surfacing work at the western roundabout, heading towards the underpass, has now been completed (pictured right), with the next phase due to start in a week’s time.

Elsewhere on site, the embankment works are progressing well and the maintenance track that runs along the bottom of the embankment (pictured left) is now under way.

The track is to provide access for the maintenance team to maintain the highway infrastructure once the road is open.

The Queens Platinum Wood Whittlesey

What a fantastic engagement – some 49 individual members of our community, businesses and community groups have now sponsored the 70 ‘Tree’s for our own Whittlesey Platinum Wood

As coordinator on behalf of Whittlesey Town Council may I thank all those who have supported this wonderful initiative.

Many have sponsored more than one tree.

I am also very pleased to report than agreement to plant the ‘Trees’ has been secured through Fenland District Council and further information will be posted as the project moves forward.
Stage II will be a meeting with FDC’s Tree specialist and support on the type of tree’s from PECT (Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) delivers a range of environmental projects working with local people, communities, schools, and businesses.

There maybe a surprise add on to this project which I am working on at present – watch this space..
