Is It A Small Minority or More Than One Group?

Whether it be the latest damage to Tree’s within our Green areas or the latest damage to our nice picnic benches we installed (at great expense) the area’s are a distance apart which would suggest more than one individual or group involved which is even more disturbing – I wonder if the parents of these responsible are aware of what is happening – I doubt it….

Was I The Only Councillor @ The Ukrainian Hub?

Advertised for Thursday the first Ukrainian Community Hub was a success according to Hub Co-ordinator Cara-anne McDowell, I spent around 1½ hours at the Whittlesey Queen Street Church finding out about the new arriving families here in Whittlesey.
They are being housed and looked after by ‘Volunteer Hosts’ (Nationwide) and the two families I met had arrived this week, one via Stansted and one driving via Poland.
The hosts will be helping the families settle in.
The Hub will begin English lessons and arrange for health checks.
The Hub will meet every two weeks begining 26th May (no meeting 02nd June).
If you are intrested in supporting or helping in anyway please contact.

Coates Village Fete – Updated

Being an Ex Coates boy – I have fond memories as a boy of the Village Green(s).

Fun, Frolics & Entertainment for all…..Well the weather just right and the rain stayed away. No doubt bigger and getting better, remember only in its 2nd year.
Most people turned up after 1pm and by 2pm pretty busy, after 4pm most starting to drift away.
Congratulations to the organisers for a wonderful ‘Village Fete’

Below last years frolics….

KD – X Update 20th May 2022

The embankment has now been completed between the underpass and the railway bridge, alongside Star Pit.

The precast concrete parapets that extend out from the railway bridge, forming part of the structure and acting as a safety barrier for people using the bridge, were craned into position last week. The works are now progressing to install the vehicle restraint barrier (VRS), drainage and kerbs along this section of embankment (pictured left).

From Monday (23 May), commuters will be permanently using the new roundabout (pictured right) at the western end, opposite Funthams Lane. Traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday, 23 May until late afternoon on Friday, 27 May, to allow the western tie-in to be completed, while the new bus stops will also come into use.
