Last Nights WTC Meetings.

Disclaimer: These observations are not the ‘official’ minutes of the meeting, these are supplied by Whittlesey Town Council, normally (1) month following this meeting and can be viewed on their website.
Decisions and Voting at this meeting may be ratified and confirmed at the following months meeting.

A brief report on last nights meetings.
(1)  Community Projects.
There are 28 people on the waiting list for an allotment.
Removal of the Hanging Baskets will begin this weekend – there has been some very positive feedback on how good they looked this year.
Cllr Roy Gerstner gave to committee the latest update on The Queens Platinum Wood project, all members and all those who are sponsoring the project will have had a newsletter ealier this week.
The project is going as planned and is well financed and resourced, the trees have been ordered and expect to be delivered towards the end of November for the main planting.
A second delivery of 15 fruit trees will be delivered in December.
Cllr Gerstner is handing the project over to Cllr Dorling as he (RG) will be unavailable during the planting dates.

(2) Planning
There were (3) applications which caused some concerns.
F/YR22/0063 Land West of 5-7 High Causeway – issues with ‘No Parking’ availability and access to the site, being a time restricted Pedistrian Area.
F/YR22/0993 Change of use of Restuarant to 2 dwellings. No Parking again was is issue, as there is a time restricted on street parking only outside the proposed development, clarification from Planning Authority (FDC).

(3) Although not in WTC/FDC area – we are adjacent to the site and residents do live in the vicinity.
Proposed Anaerobic Digestion Plant – Pondersbridge.
This has been previously passed by Hunts District Council, however this application is for a larger facility.
Previously Whittlesey Town Council opposed and recommended refusal of this facility, however Hunts District Council passed it.
Again as a neighbouring Council WTC has again recommended refusal on several planning grounds.

A Very Happy Birthday John B…..

Connie and I are proud and humbled to have John as a friend.

John has been a neighbour of ours for over 25 years and we have got to know him well.
John lost his wife Joy last year and has managed on his own.
99 today – he fought in the 2nd World War – at the battle of Anzio he lost the best part of his right arm. John was medically discharged and worked every day until 65.
He manages very well considering is disability – maybe some of our young people would like a friend like John to inspire them –

The Battle of Anzio was a battle of the Italian Campaign of World War II that took place from January 22, 1944 to June 5, 1944.
