Comic Relief Fund

Comic Relief Community Fund

Round 2 of the Comic Relief programme will open on 31st October 2022 and will remain open until 30th November 2022. If you applied to our first funding round, you should have now received your decision.

The Comic Relief Community Fund is supporting community led organisations with an income of less than £250,000 to deliver projects within four strategic themes.

We are pleased to be managing this new fund on behalf of Comic Relief in England. It will provide grants of up to £10,000, supporting project delivery and organisational capacity building, helping organisations flourish.

The funding is split as follows:

Up to £1,000 for capacity building
Up to £9,000 for project delivery

We will fund applications from grass roots, community led organisations that can demonstrate how people with lived experience of the issues being tackled are involved in the organisation and the project.

Applications must sit within one of the four key themes:

A Safe Place To Be: Supporting people to rebuild their lives because of homelessness or forced migration.

Children Survive & Thrive: Supporting children up to the age of 11 to grow, play and learn

Gender Justice: Championing those who identify as women and girls, including initiatives tackling domestic violence, abuse or exploitation

Mental Health Matters: Supporting good mental health in communities and tackling stigma and discrimination.

This Sunday we’ll be celebrating Harvest Festival. It is an opportunity to thank God for the resources that we have been blessed with, and to share something of them with those who are less fortunate than ourselves. We’ll be collecting donations of tinned/canned food for Whittlesey Emergency Food Aid and also money for WaterAid’s Harvest Appeal.

God bless,

Drugs Update for March, Chatteris & Whittlesey

Dear Roy,

We’re sorry we’ve been a little quiet lately, but we have been so busy that we’ve barely had time for a cup of tea and a doughnut!

However, over the last couple of weeks your March, Chatteris and Whittlesey neighbourhood team have arrested 10 people for possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs. These arrests come from proactive and intelligence-led policing, and the arrests account for a number of different investigations.

As a result, we have seized more than £90,000 in cash and a significant quantity of drugs.

For those who continue to supply drugs and cause harm in Fenland, we may not have not got round to them yet, but rest assured we will catch up with them as soon as we can.

If you have information or concerns about drugs, you can report online here.

Have a lovely weekend Fenland!

Sent on behalf of Inspector Andy Morris, from the Fenland Neighbourhood Policing Team
