Someone !?! – Is Being Economical With The Truth and Facts
Ex leader of Cambs County Council and now leader of the opposition Conservative Group at Cambs CC – Cllr Steve Count is being a ‘bit rich’ (pun intended) criticising the current ‘Rainbow Alliance’ about the council Tax increases.
In the many years that the Conservatives ran Cambs CC most of the time they increased our Rates/Taxes to the maximum allowed before triggering a referendum.
Cambs CC has been somewhat dysfunctional over many years both when the Conservatives ran it and probably more so now.
Cllr Count maybe suffering slight memory loss – it was he that was in charge when County Councillors received massive increases in their allowances (I’ve covered this several times)
It was his administration that decided to ‘save money’ by moving out of County Hall to
the £18 million Glass Palace.

Fury as Cambridgeshire County Council’s new £18m HQ lies empty with staff STILL not back at their desks due to ‘Covid rules’ – as civil servants defy Rees-Mogg’s efforts to end WFH with some government departments less than half full
Cambridgeshire County Council’s new headquarters opened last summer at a cost of £18 million to taxpayers but its own Covid rules mean many staff members are still working from home.

Oh Dear Dear Dear – You Couldn’t Make It Up…
No wonder the public are fed up with surveys and consultations, the lastest which I promoted and spent some considerable time filling in – has been – a waste of time…
Read below what has happened.
Good morning all,
The Combined Authority would like to thank those of you who have already completed our bus strategy survey. We are very grateful to everyone who takes the time to engage with us and tell us how we can deliver the best possible bus network for our region.
However, you may have seen our press release stating the need to relaunch the consultation. This is due to an administrative error where an incorrect version of the draft strategy was uploaded to our website. The one uploaded was an earlier, public domain version that had been tabled at the Transport and Infrastructure Committee (TIC). With this in mind, we have decided that any previous responses will need to be submitted again so that they can be made in relation to the correct version of the strategy.
The reopened survey can be accessed directly using this new link
Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. If you would like your previous responses to still be used, or for access to your previous responses for reference, please email lauren.thomas@cambridgeshirepeterborough-ca.gov.uk who will be able to assist you.
With best wishes,
The Combined Authority
RG Note I have written to the CPCA about this ‘error’ and needless to said I will NOT be spending my valuable time filling it out a second time.
If you did fill it in, may I suggest you complain to the above lady Lauren Thomas.
