Fenland Cancer Support Listening Events
Cambridgeshire ACRE is working alongside Macmillan Cancer Support to ensure that people living with cancer (and those caring for them) in Fenland have access to the best possible support.
We are hosting two, short online events so we can speak with, and listen to, people in Fenland who are living with cancer to understand their support needs, what the gaps in current support are and to ask what they would like to see in future.

No High Speed Pursuit Needed For This One!
No high speed pursuit needed for this one!
This afternoon, officers from our Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team spotted a male riding an e-scooter along Victoria Road in Wisbech.
He seemed to be wobbling a fair bit, which drew our attention and as we went to stop the him, he hit the kerb and nearly came off the scooter
Oh dear, we decided to have a chat with him. The glazed look he gave us gave it away. The breath test result of 60 (limit being 35) also backed up our theory.
Needless to say he was arrested for drink driving and riding without insurance.
He was take to the PIC were he gave an evidential breath sample of 48 and was then charged. He now has a date in court coming up!

We also seized the e-scooter under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act for having no Insurance.
We can’t be everywhere, but we could be anywhere!

Teenage Girls Banned From March
Two teenage girls have been banned from March following persistent anti-social behaviour (ASB).
The girls, aged 13 and 14, appeared at Huntingdon Youth Court on Wednesday (17 May) where they were both served 12-month ASB injunctions.
Over recent months, we have attended reports of assaults towards staff at local businesses, criminal damage, a substantial amount of thefts, as well as burglaries and robberies.
The orders state the girls must:
- Not go into any shops or business premises in March town as specified by a map, without a suitable adult – parents, family, Youth Offender Team (YOT) worker or social worker, this does not include friends who are over 18
- Not be in a group of more than two, including themselves, while in public unless with parents, family, YOT worker, social worker or educational professionals attending an agreed activity by the persons details above
- Not act or incite others to act in an anti-social manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to people not of the same household
- Not associate with each other in public without a suitable adult
Sergeant Chris Arnold, from the March Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The behaviour of these girls has been a real concern for some time now, and has been affecting the local community.
“I am satisfied their current circumstances significantly reduces the risk of any further harm being caused, and I hope this action provides some reassurance to the people of March that we take ASB seriously and will take appropriate action where possible.
“This action should serve as a warning to the girls, and others who act in an anti-social manner, the seriousness of their actions and the impact it has on others. I hope they take this opportunity to turn their lives around and cooperate with the support they are being offered.”
Advice about anti-social behaviour can be found on our dedicated ASB information webpage, along with the option to report information.

Todays Full Council Meeting @ FDC
Today was the inaugural meeting of the new adminstration @ FDC.
Newly elected Councillors (myself included) were welcomed to this mainly administrative meeting, where committee’s and proceddural business mainly being carried out.
The item for interest was that of the adoption of The Whittlesey Neighbourhood Plan, which I have posted about previously. Several Whiitlesey Councillors declared an interest as they had already discussed and in most coases already voted at Whittlesey Town Council on the subject.
Whittlesey Councillor Elisebeth Sennitt-Clough presented the case to members, and the adoption of the NP was voted on unanimously (with the exception of those who declared their interest).
You can view this meeting and other meetings by going to YouTube – Fenland District Council and search for meetings.
