Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour Is A Priority

Dear Roy,
This week is Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week. Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is an issue that is a focus for our Neighbourhood Policing Teams, as reported by concerns from our communities across the county.

What is Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)?

Defined in the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003, it is ‘behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person.’

There are three main types of ASB:

·  Personal ASB is when someone targets a specific individual or group

·  Nuisance ASB is when someone causes trouble, annoyance or suffering to a community

·  Environmental ASB is when someone’s actions affect the wider environment, such as public spaces or buildings

There are many things that are categorised as ASB, including:

·  Rowdy or inconsiderate behaviour

·  Littering

·  Drug use and littering of paraphernalia

·  Dangerous, nuisance or inconsiderate driving/riding

Have you heard of an ASB case review?

An ASB case review can be launched when a victim of repeat ASB has reported it three times and is unsatisfied with the way the reports are being handled.
The result of triggering this is a multi-agency case review where local authorities, the police, local health teams and registered providers of social housing come together to review the case.
After the meeting, an action plan will be drafted and shared with the victim.

For more information on how to launch an ASB case review, visit your local council’s website via the relevant link below.

·  Peterborough ASB case reviews

·  Fenland ASB case reviews

·  Huntingdonshire ASB case reviews

·  East Cambs ASB case reviews

·  South Cambs ASB case reviews

·  Cambridge City ASB care reviews

For more information about ASB, as well as how to report concerns, please visit our website’s dedicated Antisocial behaviour page.

Kind regards,

Trending ‘Issue’ Today

Well what I can confirm is, that since being ‘elected’ as a ‘District Councillor’ there has not been one day without an issue or problem to look into…

Latest is the ‘Drop Blocking’ around the Market Square, when installed as part of the moving of Buses to Grovenor Road – and to give a feel of a Piazza the area was block paved.
Unfortunately there is a ‘drop’ of one block around the edge  and there have been several reports if trips and falls.
This has been identified by ex Councillor Martin Curtis (who’s idea it was originally) and through him, an allocation of funding has been secured.
We wait now for the ‘area’ to be levelled off.

As can be seen ‘ The George/Wetherspoons’ have re-instated the yellow line around their area….surely not blaming anything else what may cause a ‘trip’!

Report of Out Of Control Dog(s) – Manor Field

There was a report of out of control dog(s) causing issues in the Manor Field, we believe this to have been an isolated case and investiagtions have taken place.
There is no FDC order that dogs need to be on leads within the Manor area, however dogs must not be within the childrens play areas.
Dog Control – Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) – can be viewed on FDC’s website

If you are attacked or feel threatened by a dog – you call the Police.

This morning I was with FDC’s Street Scene Officer and Robin S the Good Dog Walkers Scheme at the manor Field, whilst the Saturday Park Run was being held, we witnessed about 6 Dog Walkers no issues or problems were witnessed.

There was a ‘Park Runner’ (female) who was ‘wearing – a ‘Fox Tail’ – well madam you want a dog to chase you – you were wearing the right thing…
