U3A Guest Speaker – Today – Postponed.

Good morning Everyone

Our speaker for today, Chris Barmes has emailed me to say that unfortunately he can’t make it today as he has contracted COVID.

Instead we will have a quiz.

I’m sorry for the short notice but it is beyond my control. Hopefully, we can invite Chris back later in the year.

I am sure we all wish him a speedy recovery.

Kind regards,
Phil Cumberland
Talks Organiser.

Warnings Issued To Drivers Following Peterborough Car Meet

Over the weekend, a dispersal order covering the whole of Cambridgeshire was in place to combat the anti-social behaviour associated with car meets following information about a planned event due to take place in Peterborough on Saturday.

Whilst carrying out patrols at the known hotspot locations for these meets, neighbourhood officers swiftly moved up to about 150 cars that had gathered in the Serpentine Green car park in Hampton.

Two section 59 warnings were given to drivers due to their anti-social driving. The notices are placed on both the driver and the vehicle, meaning should either be found to be involved in anti-social behaviour again,
the vehicle can be seized.

After the vehicles were moved on, there were no further issues in relation to car meets.

Anti-social driving is a priority for our southern Peterborough Neighbourhood Policing Team, and is something that they will continue to work at combatting in response to your concerns. If you have any issues you would like to highlight to your local neighbourhood officers, you can do so by completing our community survey.

More information about anti-social driving and advice on how to report it can be found on our dedicated webpages.
