Another Resounding Success for the Fenland Christmas Gift Appeal

The sixth annual Fenland Christmas gift appeal has been deemed a resounding success.

Over the past few weeks, the Fenland Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) joined forced with Children’s Social Care to ensure that children in need across Fenland have a present to open this Christmas.

The community rallied together and have donated an overwhelming number and variety of gifts to be distributed to the children, including toys, toiletries sets, games, and books for a range of age groups.

Sally Fairbrass, who works for Children’s Social Care in Cambridgeshire, said: “Every year, the generosity of the community in Fenland exceeds our expectations with the number of donations that we receive for this lovely cause.

“My team have been amazed at the variety and number of gifts we have received, some of which have already been distributed to those families who need them.”

Inspector Morris added: “Thank you to the teams who work hard behind the scenes to run this appeal every year, and a big thank you again to everyone who donated a gift.

“From my team and I, Merry Christmas!”

The donations will continue to be distributed to families across Fenland before the big day.

Some Cost? – For Civil Parking Enforcement….

In order that Civil Parking Enforcement can take place in Fenland and taken away from the current enforcement authoriy – Fenland Police.

All signage and lining has to be checked to make sure it is legal and compliant.
This is just part of the cost to bring this item forward.

Already running late not because of FDC, but Cambs CC and others holding things up.
Best estimate for delivery late 2024/early 2025 (maybe)….

Figures below estimate cost of putting the linage and signage compliant.
There are several different funding streams financing this project.
