Massive Solar Farm Planning Application Refused – March/Turves.

(Declaration of interest : I Roy Gerstner am a member of FDCs’ Planning Committee.
I gave my apologies not attending this meeting, I did NOT contact any of the other committee members in respect of this or any other application being considered.)

As previously noted on this web-blog, a very large ‘|Solar Farm|’ was debated yesterday.
The applicant claims that only a very small % Percentage of arable land would be lost (temporary for 40 years?). FDC Officers recommended to ‘Grant’ this was debated –
FDC Planning Portal

The applicant gave very strong arguments for the application to be granted.
After debate, FDCs’ Planning Committee recommended to ‘Refuse‘ the application.

(a previous application on the border with Fenland & Lincolnshire was refused for similar reasons)

(debated and questioning for over 2 hours).

With Great Sadness – Passing of Eunice Smithyman

I am informed that Eunice, passed away yesterday morning (20th), she is the wife of Brian, who for many years was the pastor at the Whittlesey Christian Church on Broad Street. Brian has supported many individuals and organisations for over 25 years and was ‘Citizen of the Year’ 2017. He was one of the founder committee members of The Whittlesey Festival Group.
I’m sure we all send our condolences to him.
