More Parking Tickets Issued

Those who parked illegally see nothing wrong in what they are doing, however the majority of law abiding motorists do see the problem.
I/we receive complaints weekly about the inconsiderate/illegal parking especially outside schools.

Do you know what a single yellow line means on the road?

It means that you are not allowed to park there during the hours of operation (displayed on signs around the area).

Whilst out on patrol of the schools in the area during pickup and drop-off time, we are finding that a large number of drivers are disregarding the single yellow line in the road and are returning to a ticket from us!

Last week, six tickets were issued to cars parked illegally or obstructive at:

  • Burrowmoor school, March
  • Westwood primary school, March
  • Alderman Jacobs school, Whittlesey
  • Thomas Eaton, Wimblington
  • Lionel Walden primary school, March
  • Park Lane, Whittlesey
  • Benwick primary school

This is an ongoing priority for our neighbourhood teams, and we will continue to consistently visit the schools in our area to tackle poor parking. Parking obstructively, especially around schools, is extremely dangerous as it can put pedestrians and other road users at risk.

If you have an issue that you would like to make us aware of, you can do so by filling out our community survey.
