Not many people at the Library today where we held a Cyber and Scam awareness session along with Nigel Sutton Special Crime Team @ Cambs Police and Charlotte Homent Community Protection Manager @ Cambs CC.
We managed to give away a number of Booklets ‘The Little Book of Big Scams’
I had a very long talk with Nigel about Cyber issues and Scams and how the Police and Government are trying to address the issues.
His statistics are frightening – we know the here locally people are duped and scammed every day and that’s the ones we know about there are plenty who are too ashamed to come forward.
Of course ‘everyone’ knows the basics of Cyber/Internet protection – or do they – the criminals are getting better all the time.
So even though we didn’t have a great number join us today – I and those who attended thought it was very useful and we may do another one next year (Summer).
