Chicken Farm & Slaughter House Petition & Anaerobic Waste Plant Update

Please be aware of the Planning Application. Huntingdon & Peterborough Councils

1 May 2017 —
EnviTec Biogas have made the decision that their application should be decided as it stands. Which means, there will be a council committee meeting to decide the outcome. This will occur any time from July (please note the committee does not sit in August). Once a date is confirmed the council will inform all parties who submitted an opinion and advertise, but we will of course provide an update for anyone interested in attending (please note that only advanced appointed persons are able to address the committee).

Peterborough City Council has been notified that Huntingdonshire District Council are in receipt of a revised planning application for a Poultry Farm & Slaughterhouse at Kings Delph Drove. Application No 12/01847/OUT

The proposed site for this poultry farm and slaughter house is only several hundred metres from some residential properties in Cardea and Farcet and not much further from Park Farm and Stanground.

We have serious fears about the likely impact of the facility on residents amenity in terms of odour, pollution, the fact the area is a flood plain and that this is something that will likely cause more congestion at what is already a nightmare of a junction of Whittlesey Road and Ramsey Road towards Pondersbridge should HGV drivers find Farcet Village and Yaxley too difficult a route to the A1.

This application is both emotive and controversial –
It is a different application to that at Horsey Toll Farm which was for Anaerobic Waste Facility – (This appears to have gone off the Radar for the time being)
