Grand opening yesterday 31st May – Grosvenor Road, oppostite Co-Op store.

A good turn out again this morning for the organised bi monthly StreetPride Clean-Up…

22 members attended and spread out across town, collecting 22 bags in total. Some brought them back, whilst others left their sacks near to a bin.
Then it was coffee time at the George for a bit of social.
Then it was off to the Coates Fete, where we managed to get a late booking, eight members attended and we were grateful for good weather and the presence of Albert who worked tirelessly throughout the afternoon.

The next litter pick will be at Funtams Lane ( Mc Cains ) at 10am. on the 14th June. We will meet in the top car park where we will be park. I hope to see you there. (PD)

COATES VILLAGE FETE 2025

Many have tried to make a success of this building, 1960’s/70’s/80’s it was a solicitors, Hinton & Hewitt. Mr Barry Hubb bought the building and tried several themes, others have also tried – ?
So every success (hopefully) to ‘The Buttercross’ team Thomas & Morgan Hart.

The new Lincolnshire Co-Op Store about to open (end of July) being built in Coates, held a ‘Team Building Event’ within Platinum Wood this afternoon, Myself, along with Cllr Eamonn Dorling and Chair of the Friends Group Pauline Edge were there to help organise the event, sponsored by their Head Office.

Some 14  members attended most are local to Whittlesey and Coates.
The Lincs Co-Op will support 8 paid hours of community work for each employee per year – which is a fantastic way of getting involved in project like the Platinum Wood.

I try and attend when I’m available, and did so again this evening.
Another dedicated ‘small’ group of volunteers supporting ‘local’ adults with disabilities and learning issues.
Past Councillors Mrs Potts, Ken & Kay Mayor have supported the group over many years.
Around 15 members attended this evevings AGM.

Government fast-tracks two new reservoirs to shore up water supply.

Two major new reservoir projects have been fast-tracked in a bid to shore up England’s water supplies, the government has announced.

The projects in East Anglia and south Lincolnshire have been declared “nationally significant”, allowing them to speed through the planning process.

But overriding local objections can be unpopular and the reservoirs could still be more than a decade away from opening.
