COVID Cases On The Increase Whittlesey & Fenland
Covid-19 infection rates have increased in all of Cambridgeshire’s major areas, the latest government data shows.
The latest data covers the seven days to June 3 and shows that case numbers rose in Peterborough, Fenland, East Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Cambridge, and South Cambridgeshire.
The highest rise in cases came in Fenland. The area had 15 Covid cases, which was a rise of 10 – 200 per cent – which gave it a rolling infection rate of 14.7 cases per 100,000.
Huntingdonshire had the next highest rise in case numbers. An 85.7 per cent increase meant that cases rose by 18 to a total of 39.

Some Are Complaining – Some Are Supporting…
This year, the contractors for FDC have decided to leave the very wet area in the central part of the Manor Field to ‘grown wild’.
At present I’ve had (2) complain and (5) support the initiative.
The area is 2 to 3 feet below sea level and when it rains heavily becomes a small lake.
Even when cut is looks a mess.
Good for insects and other small widlife.

Warning About Fake Police Officers
I have been informed by the police that there have been doorstep callers posing as police officers in the March area. Genuine police will normally be in uniform with their shoulder number clearly displayed. All officers carry a warrant card that you can ask to see.
If you are still concerned that they may not be genuine please ring 101 if they have gone away to report your concerns or if you feel threatened and they are still there close the door and ring 999.
At the moment there have been only a very small number of reports in the March area so this is a message for guidance on what to do and to raise awareness in case they move to a different part of Fenland.
