Some Good Events to Look Forward To….
‘If’ the Governments restrictions ‘ease’ after the 19th July, many local groups/volunteers and Whittlesey Town Council are hoping to put on events in/around our area.
There will be ‘Music – on – the – Square’ – Sunday 08th August
There will be ‘The Coates Village Fete’ – Saturday 11th September
There will be WSA – The BIG BASH’ – Sunday 12th September
There will be ‘The Christmas Extravaganza’ – Saturday 11th December
All the above events are being supported or sponsored in some way by WTC.
I believe there will be many more smaller events – if you let me know I will advertise it.

Very Good News From New Metro Mayor
Today Combined Authority Mayor Nik Johnson, has confirmed that the Market Town £1 million for each of the 4 Market Towns will continue to be supported.
This means here in Whittlesey, the planned ‘Heritage Centre’ at Kings Dyke, the enhanced Heritage Walk mapping and some Business support will be going ahead.

As your Police and Crime Commissioner, one of my first roles is to produce a Police and Crime Plan which sets policing and crime priorities in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough for the next 3 years.
It is important to me that the final plan reflects the concerns, views and lived experiences of local people from across our county.

Please take note :- This application has nothing what-so-ever to do with The East Midlands Waste ‘Issues & Concerns’ that have been extensively covered here previously.
This ‘full planning application’ is at Cambridgeshire County Council they are the responsible authority in respect to Minerals & Waste.

Previously – well advertised and promoted on this web-blog was the statutory consultation
where some 170 individuals sent responses to CCC.
Please read the below document carefully, in essence, all previously comments/objections are still in place and will be considered if valid on Planning Grounds.
What is being asked for now is comments and/or objections on ‘Regulation 25’ (Environmental Impact Assessment).
One other important change to this ‘full application’ is that the applicant is looking to process 250,000 tonnes of incinerator bottom end ash’ – this was previously 500,000
I would encourage anyone with concerns to make their views known by writing to CCC/email or web portal or to contact their own Councillor to lobby on your behalf.
This planning application will be on the agenda of a Whittlesey Town Council Planning Committee. WTC are consultee’s only on planning matters.

In full view !!! of CCTV – captured last night at around 18:30, Gentleman parks his car, 3 minutes later a number of males (captured on CCTV) decide to ‘Trash’ the Mercedes, mainly with Eggs, Flour and other Rubbush.
Authorities informed….any action !!!!

Poor Rating @ New Queen Street Surgery
Many of us involved with The New Queen Street Surgery, have received quite a lot of negative feedback over a considerable amount of time.
We like most, take into account the fantastic work the NHS has been able to carry out during the COVID pandemic and most appreciate the dedication of all the NHS Staff.
The survey speaks for itself.

The 10 lowest rated GP surgeries:
1) Bushfield, Ortongate Shopping Centre, Peterborough – The response rate was 34%. Of these, 12% said it was very poor and 5% said it was fairly poor.
2) New Queen Street Surgery, Syers Lane, Peterborough – The response rate was 49%. Of these, 10% said it was very poor and 17% said it was fairly poor.
3) Waterbeach Surgery, Rosalind Franklin House, Waterbeach – The response rate was 42%. Of these, 8% said it was very poor and 16% said it was fairly poor.
4) Lakeside Healthcare, St Neots – The response rate was 43%. Of these, 7% said it was very poor and 11% said it was fairly poor.
5) Acorn Surgery, Huntingdon – The response rate was 28%. Of these, 7% said it was very poor and 5% said it was fairly poor.
6) Granta Medical Practices, London Road, Cambridge – The response rate was 45%. Of these, 6% said it was very poor and 9% said it was fairly poor.
7) North Brink Practice, North Brink, Wisbech – The response rate was 35%. Of these, 6% said it was very poor and 5% said it was fairly poor.
8) Nightingale Medical Centre, Damson Drive, Peterborough – The response rate was 19%. Of these, 6% said it was very poor and 16% said it was fairly poor.
9) Boroughbury Medical Centre, Craig Street, Peterborough – The response rate was 38%. Of these, 5% said it was very poor and 10% said it was fairly poor.
10) Wellside Surgery, Huntingdon – The response rate was 46%. Of these, 5% said it was very poor and 3% said it was fairly poor.

Farewell to a Friend & Neighbour – John Newman RIP
Monday 28th June, John J Newman sadley passed away aged 83.
John was born and schooled in Coates and Whittlesey and worked most of his life
locally.
Our condolences go to Iris, Mandy and Julie.
John was always ‘pround’ that he had the same birthday as Winston Churchill.
A good nieghbour and friend for well over 25 years.
