The A47 Alliance, Norfolk County Council and others along the route of the A47 are gearing up for a social media day of action on 13 October 2021.
This is in advance of the comprehensive spending review and to show to Government and others that there is strong support for dualling the route.
I am messaging to make you aware of this campaign taking place on Wednesday and also to share key messages so that you can also support using social media etc and share with your local contacts who can also do the same.
Please see the attached letter with details on how to support.

I think the key message is that everyone can help and its simple to do.
Here are some ideas and some wording you can use:

• Add to social media – We’re supporting the campaign to dual the A47 #JustDualIt
• Add to social media – Let’s call on the Government to prioritise our region’s road network & agree to #JustFundIt.
• Complete the National Highways Route Strategies feedback tool and encourage others to do the same at https://highwaysengland.co.uk/our-work/our-route-strategies/
• Retweet posts from A47 Alliance (@A47Alliance) / Twitter
• retweet posts Norfolk County Council (@NorfolkCC) / Twitter

Within FDC we are contacting local businesses to ask them to get involved and we will be doing our own posts on FDC social media between now and Wednesday and on the actual day.  We will also be contacting local media to see if they will get involved as well.

Thanks for your help.  Lets see how much support we can get from across Fenland on Wednesday 13 October.

This has been brought to my attention (again), and it appears that some residents are not been made aware of what has been happening – I well appreaciate that not everyone reads this web-blog, but residents are very welcome to contact me and I will bring them up to date.
I recently asked a lady on Ramsey Road, if she knew who her Councillor was – and she replied she didn’t – that fine but when I think of all the leaflets, updates (by letterbox) I’ve done over the years it is somewhat disappointing…. well I’ll carry on.

Here again is the latest (repeat of last weeks update) if you think your neighbour might want to know – just point them here…..

Reports that HGV’s are taking short cuts through residnetial areas….
If you witness this, please take a note of the vehicle, any names or registration numbers.
Please report to WTC or your local Councillor who should take up the issue with the operators.

Plans for Cambridge congestion charge to fund public transport improvements move forward……

Fenland has a great deal of catching up….be it Cycling Routes, Walking Routes, EV Charging Points – Yes some are in the pipeline and in early stages of planning….

Please find attached a copy of the incident report for September.
Throughout the report we refer to ‘incidents’. We use the term ‘incident’ to describe something that has happened on the County’s road network which has an impact (of varying degrees) on usual traffic flows. This could include, for example, a Road Traffic Collision, a burst water main or temporary traffic lights for roadworks.
