Combined Mayors Office Update #1

We want everyones in our region to have a say in the regions transport future
(max 10 mins)

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority is refreshing the Local Transport and Connectivity Plan (LTCP).

The LTCP is the map for a better transport future in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. It will help bring our communities closer together, support business and better connect people to education, retail, leisure and work.

So far we have a draft vision for the future of transport and a set of key aims and objectives. But before we develop the LTCP further, I want to hear what you think of our priorities so far, and what you think are the main transport challenges.

We have set up an LTCP website where you can have your say until Sunday 28 November. There are also more details on the plan and the next steps.

Climate Change – Blah – Blah – Blah

I like Greta Tintin Eleonora Ernman Thunberg, quirky she maybe, but the motivator of many young people – and her latest Blah-Blah-Blah hit the nail on the head.
One thing is for certain, not matter who wins, it is going to cost us all more money.

30,000 delegates arriving in gas guzzling aeroplanes and a 30 vehicle motorcade for the US president does not foster Carbon Zero to me.

An updated version of Climate Central’s Coastal Risk Screening tool has revealed that large parts of the east coast of England could be below sea level by 2030 – bringing flood risks to the Cambridge region.
According the The Cambridge Independent©    Click Here

Climate Central has now upgraded the elevation data and the sea level projections it uses to determine outcomes, with results that can be seen in this interactive map – rises that could leave Waterbeach, Ely, Fen Ditton and Chesterton below the annual flood level by 2030, far before reaching a 3°C rise.

I am sure that most us of hope that our ‘Flood Plane’ / Whittlesey Wash’ can cope with what the flood level predictions are forecasting.

Some confusion – Never – Not from the government.
Ministers and Health officials telling people that ‘we’ can now go and get our 3rd COVID Booster on demand if eligible
However some have tried and been turned away (Thursday 04th November)

I received a text today that I am eligible (6 months and 1 week) and have booked my slot in Peterborough.

The Peterborough Telegraph© is running an article.

Walk in COVID booster jabs to be avilable at Queensgate hub from weekend.   Click Here

“We have started to offer walk-in clinics for booster vaccinations, with more sites being announced over the coming days.
Please check www.thevaccinators.co.uk for further details.”
This week Peterborough and Cambridgeshire were granted Enhanced Response area status to try and tackle the high rate of COVID cases and hospitalisations, and the low vaccine take up in the area.

COVID-19 vaccination booster clinics are being held at specific sites across the city, with more due to beg opened up over the coming days and weeks. Sites open this week are:

Queensgate Shopping Centre (former Next store), Peterborough – from Saturday 6 November they will be open 8.30am until 4pm daily for walk-in booster vaccinations, with a late night until 7.30pm on Thursdays

Werrington Surgery in Peterborough will be open this Friday 5 November from 9am until midday (or until supplies last) for booster vaccinations. Please note there is a limited supply available on this date.

Eligible people will be able to access their booster vaccination at these clinics if they have had their second dose at least 182 days earlier.

Not all walk-in clinics are offering booster vaccinations, so it is important to check details on The Vaccinators website before attending.
