It Hasn’t Taken Long – Vandalism on New Picnic Benches

I just love to call our ‘anti-social group’ feral rats’ –

One week after our official launch of the very expensive project (public money remember), I and several other community minded public are ‘keeping an eye’ on these lovely picnic benches.
Today I was greeted with what appeared to be ‘chewing gum mixed with flour’ I went back home and got some cleaning gear, but nothing too strong as I don’t know how it will react with recycled plastic, so an hour or so later with soap, water and elbow grease, fixed the bench.
Another day I’ll have a go at the other table.

Sticky/Slimmy/Yuck not nice to sit on   After my attempt at cleaning it.

A job for another day….

A Sensible Planning Decision @ FDC

At the Planning Meeting (FDC) Wednesday another controversial application to build 5 dwellings on arable farm land between Eastrea & Coates, there were a few supporters and objectors. WTC (as consultee’s recommended refusal).
The —- SPACE —- between the villages is getting less and less and developers are not bothered or concerned – they are intrested in one thing only – money.

On the opposite side although no houses join the villages, the equestrian centre now jons the two villages together. FDC planning committee went along with ‘officer recommendation’ to refuse the application.

Done My Bit @ WTC Office

My thanks to fellow WTC Councillors Julie Windle and David Mason, between us we have (again) attended the Council Offices whilst the Town Clerk is on annual leave.

I did two days last week and two days this week and a steady flow of visitors, enquieries, and phone calls made the time pass pretty quickly.

Naturally we don’t know the answers to every question, but there is a good chance we know someone who does know the answer.

We shall probably do the same when the TC is on her next holidays.

Beware Again Of Romance Scams

Good afternoon,
Romance fraud continues to impact on local people across Cambridgeshire.
Last year £63M was lost to romance scammers across the UK.

In the last three hours, Sky News has reported on a new initiative by Tinder to help protect people using their online services.
I hope that the technology used by Tinder will be used by other websites in the near future.
