Another Very Good MOTS
I’d estimate some 250/300 people attended the Music On The Square event this afternoon. One or two minor accidents which is usual.
Weather perfect…

KD X Update
A message from the King’s Dyke project team:
The precast concrete edge protection for the north side of the bridge has been installed (pictured right), with the process completed using a small crane last week.
Work to install the first layer of the road on the embankment, the sub-base, is now underway. This follows the removal of additional material, which was placed in Summer 2020 to compress the embankment to the west of the underpass down to the right level (pictured left).
We are now set to begin installing kerbs for the north side of the bridge, as well as the ducts which will house electrical cabling for the street lighting.

I Am Not Giving Any Advice – Make Your Own Mind Up
The COVID 19 pandemtic is not over by any means, however with events happening daily throughout the country.
Here is Whittlesey there will be events this weekend and next weekend – mainly outdoors.
The statistics below always lag behind real time, I understand that the lastest unofficial figures may show a slight decrease in infections.
I will be attending events myself, I will be on my ‘mobility truck’ for most of the time, and plan to be socialable but distant from anyone, I also will still be wearing a ‘face covering’ most of the time..
It is up to individuals to decide what to do…..

Today Is Merchant Navy Day

BUCKINGHAM PALACE
Captain Malcolm Mathison MNM,
National Chairman,
Merchant Navy Association.
Please convey my warm thanks to the Members of the Merchant
Navy Association for their kind letter sent on the occasion of Merchant
Navy Day today.
I was pleased to learn that local commemorative services throughout Britain and the Commonwealth are taking place this year, and that thanks will be expressed to the serving seafarers who have been transporting goods and materials worldwide throughout the Covid- 19 pandemic.
Your continued support is much valued and, in return, I send my best wishes to you all.
ELIZABETH R.

(RG) I am as usual very greatful to the Royal British Legion (Whittlesey Branch) who every year on this date fly the ‘Red Ensign’ in recognition to all the British and Commonwealth seafarers who lost their lives in WW1, WW2, Korea and the Falklands.
I am also grateful to Mr Tim Brant who now lives in Whittlesey and is a committee members of the MNA and fellow retired seafarer like myself.
