Eastrea War Memorial Enhancements

My thanks to RB for the information…

Eastrea War Memorial Update.
Superb, community effort by David Goodacre and George Gilbert. Between them, they pulled out the rotten and damaged posts and replaced them with brand new posts, and supplied the labour free of charge! The posts were financed by a village benefactor, so all in all, a brilliant piece of village initiative and care. Many thanks to all involved in maintaining Eastrea War Memorial, open space. A village to be proud of!

Someone Was Asking – St Mary’s Parish Hall

Over many years, St Mary’s Parish Hall/Rooms has remained in a semi-derelict condition.
There have been over the past 10+ years several differing planning applications put forward by the owner(s).
The Fenland District Council Web-Portal – Planning has 2 applications for the site.
https://www.publicaccess.fenland.gov.uk/publicaccess/

Under F/YR19/0188 & F/YR20/3161 For an 11 bedroom hotel. There has been activity of the application through 2020 but very little this year.
Conditional Planning approval lasts for 3 years, at which stage it normally lapses, unless an extention is agreed.

Again More Mess @ The Manor Picnic Tables….

I make no apologies for keeping on about this… On 4 occasions in the past week I’ve cleaned up the mess that ‘some idiots’ are leaving, but am tiring and have left the latest muddy table.
I only cleaned this table yesterday… it was OK at 5pm last night – so I presume sometime afterwards…
