COVID Updates
Government advice…..
Coronavirus remains a serious health risk. It’s important to stay cautious and help protect yourself and others. In England:
- Meet up outside or if you’re indoors open windows or doors if you have visitors.
- If you think you might have COVID-19 symptoms, take a PCR test and stay home.
- Wear face coverings in crowded places to help protect others.
- Check in with the NHS COVID-19 app when you’re out.
- Wash your hands regularly and for at least 20 seconds with soap.
- Get vaccinated if you are 18 or over.
From 16 August, people fully vaccinated or under 18 will not need to self-isolate after close contact with someone who has COVID-19. You’ll still need to take a PCR test and self-isolate if it’s positive, or if you have symptoms.
Confirmed Covid-19 cases (data updated Thursday 26 August 2021 at 4:00pm)

- At a district level, Fenland and Huntingdonshire have reported an increase in case rates per 100,000 in the latest reporting week (15 – 21 August) compared to the previous week up to 14 August. South & East Cambridgeshire and Cambridge case rates have decreased in the latest reporting week.

Another Very Good MOTS
I’d estimate some 250/300 people attended the Music On The Square event this afternoon. One or two minor accidents which is usual.
Weather perfect…

KD X Update
A message from the King’s Dyke project team:
The precast concrete edge protection for the north side of the bridge has been installed (pictured right), with the process completed using a small crane last week.
Work to install the first layer of the road on the embankment, the sub-base, is now underway. This follows the removal of additional material, which was placed in Summer 2020 to compress the embankment to the west of the underpass down to the right level (pictured left).
We are now set to begin installing kerbs for the north side of the bridge, as well as the ducts which will house electrical cabling for the street lighting.

I Am Not Giving Any Advice – Make Your Own Mind Up
The COVID 19 pandemtic is not over by any means, however with events happening daily throughout the country.
Here is Whittlesey there will be events this weekend and next weekend – mainly outdoors.
The statistics below always lag behind real time, I understand that the lastest unofficial figures may show a slight decrease in infections.
I will be attending events myself, I will be on my ‘mobility truck’ for most of the time, and plan to be socialable but distant from anyone, I also will still be wearing a ‘face covering’ most of the time..
It is up to individuals to decide what to do…..
