WTC LHI Meeting
Today a number of Councillors met to discuse and review next years submission to
Cambs CC for Local Highways Improvements (LHI’s).
A Town Council like ours can submit up to 2 such applications to a value of £15,000 each, the contribition we have to make is 10% of the application.
LHI’s can be ‘Yellow Lines’ – Paths – Road Safety Improvements and Speed Limits to name a few.
Just because an application is made, doesn’t mean it will either be accepted or meet the CCC criteria.
Most LHI’s are at the suggestion of the public/electorate.

Public Toilets Under Repair
At long last and after a great deal of lobbying by our Councillors, Fenland District Council have now got repairs to all 3 public toilets behind The George underway.
All three had ‘water’ damage and the flooring became unsafe, this was over a year to get repairs carried out.
Some weeks ago posted photo’s of what the damage looked like.
Here is a picture taken a couple of days ago.

NWA NHS FT – The Pulse
Further to my articles on Peterborough City Hospital, here is the link to read The Trust’s quarterly magazine – The Pulse.
Find out about a fantastic few months for our Maternity Services, they have been awarded an accreditation by UNICEF UK and also been nominated for a patient safety award.
There is also an article about the amazing Phlebotomy team at Stamford & Rutland Hospital, and a closer look at all our winners from our Annual Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Is Anyone Working….
It appears that nearly everyone is in a queue waiting for fuel !!!!!
We were in Hampton this morning for an appointment, Tesco had around 20 or so vehicles waiting at the Peterol Station, I joined them and less than 15 minutes had the
tank full.
Tesco had a delivery this morning, but by 11:30 had run out of diesel and petrol
had finished by 12:30 – Oh for those on Social Media….knowing when there is a delivery?

Fake e-mails From Asda
Please be alert to fake emails purporting to be from Asda. These emails state that the recipient can win a £100 promotional reward gift card by completing a marketing survey. To access the survey, the recipient must click on a shortcut within the email that leads to a website controlled by the cyber criminal, the webpage may look genuine but is designed to deceive the recipient into revealing personal information especially email/username/password.
This currently appears to be a national issue, and at this time, I have not heard of anyone within Cambridgeshire receiving such an email.
Remember, although these emails are specific to Asda criminals could easily change their template to represent any UK based retailer.
If in doubt, don’t click and go to the official and genuine website of the alleged sender.
Forward suspicious emails to report@phishing.gov.uk
