Lots of Road/Path Works

Braemar Gardens has a patchwork of repairs carried out.
The corner of Church Street was a blaze of activity this morning.

Market Street also a hive of activity, I thought I could smell Gas – however I’m told it is – Electrical ….still there at 17:00

Update – Loneliness & Isolation

A very productive ad-hoc meeting today with the team that are looking to engage further to support those who need help and assistance, both Social Prescribers (NQS & Jenner) attended. It hoped that the Community Hub Bus will be in attendance once a month to begin with to act as a focal point.

This morning I will be supporting Officers from Cambs CC and Fenland in engaging and promoting Loneliness and Isolation, since the Covid pandemic, many especially the elderly have had a very difficult period, through our Neighbourhood Watch Group we have supported just 5 such individuals. The problem is identifying such people and trying to help them engage with support which is here.

It nearly always goes down to being a ‘Good Neighbour’ – the way the world is today, many do not know who there immediate neighbours are…..
If you know of anyone within the Whittlesey area – who you think maybe needs some support – then let me know – I can get help for them.

The Community & WTC Platinum Wood

I am pleased to update, as of today our fantastic individuals, community groups and local businesses have sponsored 62 Trees out of the 70 target we plan to plant later in the year.
I am also very pleased to inform that a suitable site, within the Whittlesey area, has been agreed with the owners of the land – this site is fairly easy to be accessed so that sponsors will be able to visit their Tree(s)

If you would like one of the few remaining Trees available – please contact me – my details are on the top toolbar.

KD X Update

A message from the King’s Dyke project team:

On Wednesday 23 March we will be asking traffic to temporarily drive on a section of the new western roundabout – closest to Peterborough and near McCains – for three days while work takes place on the existing A605.

This means you will use the new roundabout rather than the current A605 until Friday 25 March. There will be traffic lights at the tie-in itself, but it will be two-way traffic around the roundabout.

Please drive carefully during this temporary layout and observe the signs. Please note, the new bus stops within the current site will temporarily be in operation during these dates.
