Did we see any Keyboard Warriors from Social Media standing for election — No – Nil –
Am I surprised ?  Plenty to say and acuse Councillors of being corrupt and useless.
Here was their chance of bringing their changes to democracy.

At the Community Projects one member of the public attended.
Presently 39 people waiting for an allotment – 4 recently have been allocated, the list can move quickly some months.
Kings Coronation, plans well advanced for events both in Whittlesey and Coates, all support services have been arranged (toilets/security/generator)
National Lottery funding was sucessful on the second application of £7,400 towards the Coronation Events.
It was decided to have a lasting memory of the Kings Coronation by placing a Seating Bench at the Queens Jubilee Wood on Yarwells Headlands.
Cllr Gerstner will follow up.

The most controversial planning application was F/YR23/0225/O Erect up to 175 dwellings off Drybread Road (Access)
WTC Planning Committee (consultee’s only)
recommended ‘refusal’ on Highways and Access Grounds.

The Fenland District area I am standing for is Whittlesey South.
There are 2 District Council seats to be contested.
There are 4  candidates – I have No affiliation with the other Independent contestant.

The Whittlesey Parish area I am standing for is South Ward Whittlesey South.
There are 2 Town Council seats to be contested.
As there are only (2) candidates – both myself and the other candidate are elected unapposed.

Most burglars target homes that they think will contain valuables and this generally means cash, electricals, and jewellery.

Here are a few tips on how to protect yourself and valuables:

1.       Improve security, and ensure CCTV and alarms are working properly.

2.       Use a timer switch for indoor lighting.

3.       Keep your jewellery in a safe location, like safe deposit box, while not being used.

4.     Register your jewellery on www.immobilise.com to help us identify your property if ever stolen.

Remember, a home that looks empty is far more likely to be targeted, so it’s worth making sure your home looks occupied.

Well documented in local press and media, the Ivy Leaf has been in a somewhat precarious position for a number of years, from the Police investigations,
(no prosecutions), various accusations about finances, and building consent for 3 houses to be built in the car park.

The committee/management at the time, pleaded that unless they could develop the land the Ivy Leaf would close…..fast forward and Covid issues probably did not help and we are informed now that the ‘Club’ will probably close down.

I am not a gambling man – but I’m pretty sure what will happen to the 100 year old building and its car park and land…..I’ve heard that there is already a local builder showing interest…..

COVID SPRING BOOSTER CAMPAIGN…

Lakeside has no plans to offer Spring Boosters due to lack of capacity.

So, it would seem that if you are eligible and receive a message, you should make arrangements to attend one of the venues provided by the app.
Those without an ‘App’ will probably get a letter.

The NHS Covid-19 app will close down on 27^th April, however you can continue to use its features up to that date. The reason why it is closing down is, that although it has been hugely successful in that it has helped to break chains of transmission and reduce iinfections, the number of people actively using it has steadily reduced since July 2021.
