The Bower TowPath Concerns & Issues….

Here we go again, Social Media rules the waves….without any understanding what-so-ever.
So I’ll ‘try’ to explain (not excuse) the situation –
Our Bower Towpath should be a wonderful walk for hundreds that use it daily, including myself, the ‘path’ is ‘owned’ by 4 different authorities, Cambs Highways, FDC, Mid-Level Commissioners and a Charity.

To even attempt to get all four around a table I can asure has been tried.
So ‘we’ Councillors have to approach Fenland District Council to service the whole Pathway. As spring turns to summer, the area gets overgrown, I have requested this be looked at some 10 days ago along with other Councillors, the work has to be scheduled into the contractors other workload which is already heavy at this time of the year.
Yesterday the contactor ‘Tivoli’ sent their ‘man’ and he spent some 6 hours strimming and clearing the area as best as he could (not the overhanging tree’s) and he cleared up afterwards.
No thanks required or expected as usual…..abused ….

After the Strim… It all takes time, please be patient…..

More Results On Dead Fish Issues/Concerns

I and others are very grateful to the public who report issues through the correct authorities, rather than some making wild allegations.

It is so easy to report – just ‘Google’ and results will come ….
So after lots of dead fish were seen along the old nene and Bower, both Mid-Lvel Commissioners and the Environment Agency were out pretty quickly.
Our River Baliff is also extremely active.

Dead Fish

Many reports of ‘dead fish’ – this has been investigated and according to the River Baliff and Environment Agency is due to water being deoxygenated ! – it’s nothing to do with Saxon pit as some are saying !
This happens regularly especially when there is hot weather/temperatures.
