This year marks 70 years since fighting in the Korean War came to an end.
There will be a joint RBL/WTC short service at the war memorial this morning.
To meet at Peel House for 10.40 to walk to memorial for the service being led by the RBL Chaplain, Roger Brown
The intention is to post a message on the website (I attach a screen print of the message posted on their website this morning – click on it to open) and on Facebook basically stating that on 2nd August between the hours of 8 am and 10.30 am they are asking patients to telephone the surgery rather than visit.
A clinical team, GP led, will direct patients to the most appropriate practitioner to make sure that they are making the best use of their time and appointment slots.
The same information will go out by short text messages to be sent out late Friday.
Once the practice has run the trial they will feedback how it went and discuss with us whether this is something that they might look to do going forward.
As part of ongoing engagement and evidence collection to inform the delivery of our Fenland Cycling, Walking and Mobility Aid Strategy an online survey has been set up to capture local views and feedback. This is to provide an open-ended, continuous opportunity for members of the public to communicate and engage with the FDC Transport Team about their needs, experiences and observations about walking and cycling locally.
The survey is being promoted through business card style hand-outs at local events and the poster attached. The poster is available to display at locations and notice boards across the district and copies are in the process of being sent out to schools, GP surgeries, libraries, leisure centres and shops. Social media posts will also be set up and shared via FDC’s Facebook page periodically throughout the year.
Survey responses will be used to inform the delivery of the strategy recommendations and support funding applications for schemes and projects. Results will be included in the annual report for the Strategy (due April/May).
Walking and Cycling Survey Card finalPlease share the details of this survey with your contacts and let me know if you require any printed copies of the poster or business cards. And, of course, please also provide your own comments and feedback through the survey.
For further information and to view the strategy please visit Fenland Cycling, Walking and Mobility Aid Improvement Strategy – Fenland District Council.
If you have any question or would like to discuss the survey or strategy please contact me at bpedler@fenland.gov.uk.
My first Fenland District Council – Planning Committee attendance as a member.
I’ve been on Whittlesey Town Councils Committee for a number of years, but this is now the decision makers.
Aldi™ have an application to build a store almost opposite Tesco™ in March.
Some objections and some in favour, after presentations, the FDC planning committee voted in favour of the application.
There are conditions which have to be met.
Several other contentious applications – a full 4½ hour meeting all of which can be viewed on FDC’s YouTube site. Nothing wrong in healthy competition.
Some interesting applications including Aldi near to Tesco in March.
Expected to be a very long meeting – can be viewed on YouTube

I have highlighted this issue many times before and make no apology for reporting this mindless anti-social behaviour. The issue was raised by myself at this weeks full council meeting, and councillors decided to refer back to the Projects Committee.
whilst this is happening, whatever parts are damaged will be removed for safety reasons.
Someone knows who is doing this….?
