On 22 August, a man killed a motorcyclist while high on drugs and driving a car he had stolen from a garage forecourt. Neville Smith was tailgating a car on Bretton Way, Peterborough, when he cut a corner to turn onto Deerleap Road. Sweeping across the carriageway, he struck a motorcyclist who was riding in the opposite direction. Smith was sentenced to six years and four months in jail and was disqualified from driving for five years. Stephen Leonard, 57, of St Michael’s Gate Peterborough, brutally stabbed Fay Mills, 60, leaving her with life changing injuries. Leonard was found guilty following a trial at Cambridge Crown Court. Alfie Fisher, 54, admitted having been in relationships with two women, both of whom had children, therefore breaching notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. On 3 December he was jailed for 12 months at Peterborough Crown Court. Peterborough resident Nigel Matt pleaded guilty to outraging public decency. Matt also faced further charges of voyeurism and taking and possessing indecent images of children for which he was also sentenced. Abrahim Farooq, 25, was found with drugs worth more than £21,000 when officers raided his home in Redmile Walk, Welland, in February this year.
