As of 9:00 on 8th May 2017 (this morning) Mr Jason Ablewhite the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire officially handed the keys of Whittlesey Police Station to the mayor Mr Alex Miscandlon.
The Whittlesey Town Council now officially own the Police Station which will become the Town Council Offices and be an asset for the town.
RG Note: I understand there will be a mortgage involved in this and there will need to be substantial work and cost to carry out before the building is ‘fit for purpose’ – but it is good news in the respect that there is a long term investment in the community, a centrally located building with nearby car parking.
