Latest Update Planning @ Saxon Works #1

As previously mentioned – a vast amount of material and reading, only some I’ve posted up here…..

From Stephen Barclay MP
Dear Mr Gerstner,
I am emailing regarding a planning application for the processing of more waste material in Whittlesey, given that you have previously raised your concerns with me on this and related issues.

On Wednesday next week, the Lib-Dem run Cambridgeshire County Council will consider a planning application from Johnson Aggregates Recycling Ltd to double their waste operations at Saxon Pit in Whittlesey. I am deeply concerned about this application, given the long-standing problems at this site and the significant impact it has already had on local residents.
A number of other organisations and representatives have also voiced their concern, including usually the Director of Public Health for Cambridgeshire, the Middle Level Commissioners, and Peterborough City Council’s Highways Authority. I am also grateful to Whittlesey County Councillor Cllr Chris Boden, and to the Saxongate Residents Group, who have done so much to highlight the flaws in this planning application

Despite these serious concerns, I understand that the county council may still be preparing to approve the application. If that were to happen, it would be a betrayal of the people of Whittlesey who have lived with the consequences of this site for far too long. As such, I wanted to ensure you were aware of this planning hearing before any final decision is taken, rather than reading about it after the event.
I have attached here a link to my full objection letter to the planning committee: link to Letter

Thank you for taking the time to read this update. You can get more regular updates on what I have been up to by following my Facebook Page, or subscribing to my YouTube channel, all of which are updated regularly.
