RG Note : Minerals and Waste primarily comes under Cambridgeshire County Council (Planning) and The Environment Agency (Permits), as such it is your County Councillor who should be the lead representative for these applications. (Councillor Boden is taking an active roll now)
I am proud to have supported residents in the Whittlesey South Ward since 2017 and have been very concerned on how the various agencies are handling complains and issues.
Saxongate is a none political Residents Group – I am not on their committee or the WTC Liaison Group, this allows me to be independently and fair minded on both the applicant(s) and residents when dealing with the planning applications/issues/concerns and complaints.
No other councillor has this track record.

CCC/24/091/VAR – Expansion of IBA(A) site – new information and May 31st Deadline
This is the application by Johnsons Aggregates Recycling Ltd (CCC/24/091/VAR) to significantly increase IBA/IBAA production at Saxon Pit Whittlesey, including bigger stockpiles, almost double the amount of incinerator bottom ash, longer working hours and significantly more HGV movements.
New information has just been added by the applicant in response to questions from councillors and agencies. People now have until 31st May to respond, see CCC letter and a site photo above
You can view, download and comment on the new information here: –
You can view all the documents including objections from WTC and others,.

Saxongate also objected and raised a number of concerns.
We are working hard on a new response and so far, have seen nothing in the new information to change our position.
The new data for example states that ‘’IBA is not considered to be malodorous or offensive, and that they do not consider the scent will cause issues beyond the site boundary during normal operating conditions’’ If you live near the site do you agree?
If not, now is the time to make your voice heard.
