I just wanted to raise your awareness to a potential scam that has been reported to me by a police colleague on the Cambridgeshire border.
In general, the scam involves the delivery of electrical goods to a residential address, the person accepting the delivery has no knowledge of placing the order and paying for it, yet their name and address is clearly on the delivery label.
Shortly after, a different courier arrives at the house stating that there had been an error in the previous delivery and tries to take the goods back.
My colleague informs me that in the reports he has received, the goods have been sent by ao.com an online company who sell home electricals, and the suspect courier has said he was from DPD.
None of the goods were handed over to the suspect.
