So How Come Cambridge Gets Bollards and We Don’t

For more years than I can count (at least 12), ‘we’ have been trying to make safe and secure
High Causeway in Whittlesey, after (at least 12 years) we put our final case to Cambs CC Highways for a LHI (local highways improvement) on ‘Safety Concerns’ – As good as rejected, even though there was and is a strong case….so how come Cambridge gets….
I don’t know…

Parking bays could be removed and bollards restricting through-traffic installed on Sidgwick Avenue in Cambridge to help improve safety.
The move would provide more space for pedestrians and wheelchair users and make the road safer for cyclists.
Currently more than 70 per cent of people using Sidgwick Avenue walk or wheel but around 250 pedestrians or wheelchair users are being forced off the path and out into the road on average each day.
