A very well behaved group of protesters (with small placards) attended todays Planning Meeting @ FDC which can be viewed By Clicking Here…..
F/YR24/0457F (@FDC’s Planning Portal).

FDC Officers recommended ‘To approve’ the application.
Cllr Barber a FDC Councillor gave a presentation to refuse the application.

There were 4 members of the applicants who also gave a short prersentation and answered many questions put to them by myself and other members of the Planning Committee.

The site of some 140 hectare (1 Hectare = 100 acres) = 170 Football Pitches in size.

The Planning Committee members were very mindful of the loss of good agricultural land, for some 40+ years. Cllr Gerstner gave facts that this land could produce 1120 tonnes of Prime Wheat a year, which in turn relates to 2 Million loaves of bread, pointing out that the UK imports some 60% of its food requirements already.
I spoke on a number occasions about the site …. and materials.

Other factors being the loss of Fenlands landscape.
The Planning Committee recommended refusal by a unanimous decision.
