We’re appealing for the public’s support in identifying properties that may be being used as cannabis factories as part of our work to crack down on serious organised crime.
We’d like to work with you to help protect our communities and gain crucial information to limit the activity of drug cultivation, and the detrimental effects, misery and harm that illegal drugs bring.
Cannabis farms or factories are very dangerous places and pose a serious risk of fire.
Often the electricity meter has been bypassed and overloaded electrical circuits run close to water-filled pipes.
Plants are often grown upstairs in a building which could cause floorboards to rot and the danger of a collapsed ceiling.
In addition, often the people keeping these plants and farms up and running are victims of human trafficking and working against their will.
More often than not we’ll attend a cannabis factory for a neighbour to peer out and say ‘I thought it was a cannabis factory’ or ‘I knew something was going on there’.
Please don’t wait for us to turn up to tell us information. If any of the below sounds familiar, report it to us;
- Black out windows
- Buzz of ventilation
- Condensation
- Bright lights day and night
- Visitors at unsociable hours
