Update On Last Nights Council Meeting

Decisions and Voting at this meeting may be ratified and confirmed at the following months meeting.

Community Projects :
1/ The Clerk advised that some 30 people are on the waiting list for an allotment.
A recent allotment inspection identified 16 rated as being in poor condition, a further inspection will take place and if no improvement – they will be served eviction notices.

2/ The members present discussed a future plan for the upcoming ‘Kings Coronation’ and agreed that a sub-committee/working group be set up as to the arrangements that Whittlesey Town Council put in place for the event – more to follow.
Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May, 2023.
The Coronation Ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey,
London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort.
The Coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.
Further details will be announced in due course.

3/ An update on Whittlesey Town Council – Community ‘Platinum Wood’ project.
Cllr Gerstner adviced that all is going to plan, and that Cllr Dorling has taken on the prime role of co-ordinator whilst RG is unavailable.
The tree’s have been ordered and are expected to be delivered end November/beginning December. Logistical support from Mr Jonathan Dale and PECT is established.
All sponsors will be invited to ‘Plant-A-Tree’ on the day.
