Exclusive Insight Into Life as a 999 Call Handler

If you have ever wondered what a typical Friday night looks like for a police emergency call handler, you’re in luck.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary are going to be offering the public a glimpse into the heart of policing as part of International Control Room Week.

We will be taking to Twitter on Friday 28th October, where we will be live Tweeting about every emergency call we receive between 4pm-11pm.

Detective Superintendent Michael Branston said “this will be the third year that we have celebrated International Control Room Week by providing the public with a snapshot of the many and varied calls my team of dedicated call handlers deal with. Friday nights are usually busy, and I fully expect our social media followers to be surprised by the volume but also really interested in the different types of demand we deal with each day.”

Be sure to tune in on Friday 28th, and follow us on Twitter (@CambsCops) in advance so you don’t miss out.
