Flood alert for Middle Level of the Fens in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk
The Chatteris rain gauge has recorded significant rainfall over the last 24 hours as a result of the bands of heavy rainfall passing over the catchment.
Consequently, flooding of low lying roads and farmland is possible over the next couple of days. Areas likely to be affected are Middle Level, including Pondersbridge, Ramsey St Mary’s, Benwick and Welney.
Further rainfall is expected later today, Sunday 23rd and into tomorrow Monday 24th October.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying roads and footpaths which are flooded.
