Good to see The Belisha Beacon Replaced Eastgate & Paint….

Skanska contractors replaced the damaged knocked down ‘Belisha Beacon’ at Eastgate last Sunday…
I was getting concerned (again) about the state of the ‘Paint’ – however todays photo (KC) shows this has also been addressed.

Who knocked it over  – don’t know…

The beacons were named after Leslie Hore-Belisha (1893–1957), the Minister of Transport who, in 1934, added beacons to pedestrian crossings.
