With reference to the Allison Homes application P/99/2024 (F/YR24/0827/O), WTC have recommended refusal on the grounds it is not in keeping with the Village (expansion).
During their presentation, the offer that WTC take on in conjunction with a management committee the open space land – the Committee declined this offer.
It was suggested that perhaps another group (Friends of The Jubilee Wood) may be interested?

Volunteers Fayre Today

Around 10 local Volunteer Groups were present at St Andrews Hall today from 10am – 3pm.
There were a few ‘new’ people who came along and expressed an intrest in becoming a member. It was a good opportunity for networking.

Our thanks to CCVS for organising the event (and supplying a nice buffet lunch)~

‘It’s Just a Massive Shame!’ Senseless Vandalism

I don’t know how many times I’ve posted about ‘Mindless Vandalism’ within our town.
The latest being Poppy Wreaths and Crosses on the Market Place – Thursday late/Friday early.
As usual NOT to ‘blame’ any one group, I left Peel House where we had finished our Neighbourhood Watch around 9pm – there were lots of ‘younger people’ around dressed up (or in some cases undressed) for the Halloween celebrations.

Friday morning reports started coming in that the Poppies and Wreaths had been interfered with, the photo’s I’ve been sent look only minor – thats not the point.
I have made a report to the Police asking that the incident be treated as a ‘crime’ of vandalism/anti-social behaviour.
I and many others including our Councillors sincerely hope this is a one off incident.

We have asked the CCTV operations to review – the Market Place is covered with a very good High Definition Camera.

Some of the poppies were thrown onto the roof of the Buttercross.
