Wisbech NP Result

Did you see the post this week in relation to one of the new priorities for the Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team is tackling e-scooters and illegal e-bikes?

Well, not taking our feet off the gas, we have this morning arrested a male for Dangerous Driving, No Insurance, No driving licence and drug offences following an incident yesterday in Wisbech with the team.

If you own one of these e-bikes and you think you can taunt the Police and ride dangerously , we will find you and give you a wake up call. That’s what happened this morning!
A male remains in custody at the PIC in Kings Lynn where enquiries continue into this matter.

Nostalgia Sunday…

Known to be a bit impulsive in my younger days, once on our journey to Malaysia in the 1980’s, I decided to export a Malaysian Tri-Shaw.

It wasn’t in very good condition, but the guy who sold me it knew its value to a Brit.
So boxed up and shipped back to Blighty at vast expense.

My Dad and I did it up (sort of) and found that the wheel rims were dated 1948 made in Great Britain by the Reynolds Wheel Co.

Here we are with two of my visiting Sister-in-Laws (2009)

Alas the Trishaw is no more, I had nowhere to store it and sold it at a loss.

Moral of the story is that ‘If you’re going to make a pratt of yourself do a good job of it’

Saxongate Update Re Johnsons & East Midlands Waste.

On 8 October, Enforcement and Monitoring officers from CCC will update the Councilโ€™s Planning Committee on their work. Item 11 of the agenda refers to Saxon Pit and specifically East Midlands Waste Management.

The report does not make it clear how these activities relate to the planning permission granted to EMWM in February 2025 (Ref. CCC/24/048/FUL) and the earlier consent for Johnsons Aggregates and Recycling Ltd โ€“ JARL (Ref. CCC/21/024/FUL).ย We have asked that councillors make this link clear and confirm how these rules will be enforced.

This is of particular concern given that Johnsons Aggregates and Recycling Ltd have a live Environment Agency permit variation (EPR/DP3131NM/V002) and a parallel planning application (CCC/24/091/VAR) lodged in 2024, which seeks to increase throughput from 250,000 to 460,000 tonnes per year. Both remain under determination.

Rest assured Saxongate will continue to press agencies, councillors, and our MP on residentsโ€™ behalf and will provide updates as further information becomes available.

ย Some CCC meetings are live streamed and you can find the minutes here:
