Cllr Roy Gerstner – Community Activist

Well, we do – our Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT) identify and investigate paedophiles who use the internet to exploit and abuse children, taking on some of the most varied and challenging work in policing.

The team investigates offences ranging from making and distributing indecent images of children, to sexual communications with a child.

Earlier this week, Chief Constable Nick Dean surprised the team by presenting them with his ‘Employee of the Month’ award.

In recent months, the team has had an exceptionally busy period by carrying out 30 warrants and supporting an operation to target individuals seeking to pay for sexual services from children.

To help us protect children online, you can find out more here where you can also report concerns.

Information about indecent images of children and how to report concerns can be found here.

Kind regards,
