Tree planting completes Whittlesey’s celebrations of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

THE Mayor of Whittlesey, Councillor Kay Mayor, completed the town’s commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with the planting of an oak tree in the grounds of Sir Harry Smith Community College.

At the tree planting ceremony, Cllr Mayor said: “An engraved plaque that has been mounted on the tree pays tribute to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year, while the tree itself represents the opportunities and future prospects that the college it grows beside will provide for this Cambridgeshire community for many years to come.”

9 years on since being planted Cllr Kay Mayor informs me the ‘tree’ is there and doing well.

I believe everyones had enough statistics for the past 18+ months, so unless there is a major upsurge in infections/hospitalisation this is the final set of stats.

Todays meeting with Mr Robert Windle who is again the organiser/coordinator of The BIG BASH event. Present were members of Fenland District.
