The Ottermans Corner Is Becoming A Big Issue

Reported  previously of ‘who’ is in charge of this situation, and I’ve seen video of a vehicle driving at the ‘bollards’ and sending them flying, I apologise that it is out of our hands and control, this is another case of an accident waiting to happen.

Yet Again – More Minor Vandalism – Picnic Benches

After a lot of hard work, funding and support from WTC & Whittlesey Street Pride, earlier this year 8 expensive fully recycled heavy duty Picnic Benches were installed in the Manor Field, a lot of positive feedback, however the first week saw vandalism of two of the benches. Since then several other attempts of either trying to dismantle or set fire to them has taken place. In consultation, if this carries on, we will have no alternative but to take out all of the benches, limited resources in finance and ability to repair any damage.
If you see or witness any of this mindless vandalism I urge you to report it.
(I am not allowed to say – who I think maybe responsible – I’m sure you can guess)

Happy Birthday(s)

Good school friends of myself and many who went to Sir Harry Smiths in the 60’s, Sandra and Mick, held a birthday bash last night and I passed by for a short time to wish them a Very Happy Birthday, met with a few whom I’d not seen for many years.

Our Treasurer Mr John Garnett retired after some 10 years and Karen Upchurch has been elected as the new treasuer.

Updates on how NHW has supported some 150 people in our area during the COVID restrictions.
Robin gave a comprehensive update on the changes in the local/county policing.

If you have concerns of crime/law & order, ASB, Drugs etc, why not join us and keep a better ‘eye and ear’ open in supporting your neighbours.

WTC Planning Committee Agenda 01st December

Disclaimer – Whittlesey Town Council are consultees only on planning matters.
Actual decisions are made either at Fenland District or Cambs County Councils.

On the agenda is a planning application (Cambs County Council) for a recycling plant at Saxon Pit by Johnsons Aggregates.
I have made it public previously that the Johnsons application is a very well  and professional application and my and residents concerns are on planning matters only.
I have made many postings and updates on this web-blog in the past.

There has been some significant changes to the previous application after residents and my own represetations on the consultation.

If you have any concerns about this application a urge you to contact your own Councillor prior to this meeting – your Councillor can be found on WTC Website :-
