Rose Garden – Correction…..
My apology – it has been pointed out to me, that The Rose Garden at the top of Church Street, is maintained by 4 Street Pride Volunteers and not (2) as I published last week.
2009 – Street Priders clean up derelict part of Church Street – Picture Roy Gerstner.
2024 – Still maintained with TLC by Street Pride. – Picture Roy Gerstner.

Manor Tennis/Netball Courts
After nearly 2 years (hard work), ‘we’ thought the refurb of the Manor Tennis/Netball Courts had been completed. Alas —–Someone noticed that the ‘Posts’ were on the wrong side (erected on the inside) – I investigated and found some sports they are on the inside and some on the outside.
Contacted FDC about a month ago – and 2½ days of work by the contactor had to take all the panels off, re-drill and re-fit. The ‘Boss’ told me – he didn’t ask – and he wasn’t told which way round they should be. A 50/50 decision – wrong – as he said – lessons will be learnt….

Jenner Health Centre PPG News
The NHS requires every practice to have a Patients Participation Group (PPG). At the last PPG meeting a small volunteer steering group of patients was formed to help reboot the Jenner PPG. The practice has been very supportive and is keen to see the group grow again after struggling during the Covid lockdowns.
A PPG is a group of people who are patients of the surgery and want to help it work as well as it can for patients, doctors and staff.
To check the current situation and help us set focus areas, with the full cooperation of Jenner Healthcare a short survey has been created (see link and QR code link below).
The practice will be making paper forms available as well as contacting patients directly to take part. This anonymous survey closes on 20/09/2024 and we need as many Jenner patients as possible (Eye, Thorney and Whittlesey), to complete it before then.
Survey link (QR code attached) = https://s.surveyplanet.com/rjbezgem
The results will be published in a Newsletter, you can register for that here (Subscribe to Practice News) :– Jenner Healthcare Newsletter April 2022 – Jenner Healthcare
The next PPG meeting will be held in October (date TBA). People should be able to attend in person (limited numbers due to space) and also remotely login. If you would like to join the PPG and be kept updated just email = [email protected]
or use the contact page on the Jenner Health Centre Website (link below)

Don’t Know What The Problem Is With The Street Cleaner?
Yesterday on my travels I noticed 2 bins which had not been emptied at 3pm in the afternoon, I reported it to FDC and later in the evening around 8pm they had still not been done. Friday night – Market Place – well who ever came Saturday morning would have mess to clear up I imagine – I didn’t go to check.
Normally our Street Cleaners are pretty good, especially Zone 1 Town Centre.
See something – Report It…
