There is a long history of the site being developed. for those who may not know – it has some historical background – Horsey Toll Scheduled Monument lies
beyond the A605 to the south of the proposal site, separated by a small field.
During the 2nd World War there was an airfield.

For some years (those who have been with me – may remember) A development at ‘Horsey Bridge/Toll’ on the A605 where The London Crane Company operate from has been in the pipeline, several differing plans have been put forward, the last one being ‘A Rail Interchange and Freight Depot’.
Received the below yesterday and have researched Peterborough planning portal but nothing much came up. I have requested Whittlesey Councillors who have wards with
bordering the site to do some investigations…..

‘If’ and I mean ‘If’ this latest plan came about it would have serious implications on the A605 with just one entrance/exit to the site…??

From Saturday 06th May communities will have the opportunity to celebrate King Charles III coronation, there maybe organised street events – if your community is planning one, time to get organised.

Whittlesey Town Council in association with MoreMusic Radio will be putting on 3 events for the community.

Music events on over the 3 days starting on Saturday May 06th on
Coates Village Green.

Sunday May 07th music event @ The Manor Leisure Centre.

Monday May 08th music event @ St Andrews Church.

                             All events are subject to change and confirmation.

These events are in addition to the planned Music on The Square events.

More news coming as confirmation and details better known.

Every year the Town Council contracts the Hanging Baskets around our town, naturally to keep them going they need to be watered. This year unfortunately Ian who has the contract is waiting for an operation. Therefor the Council are looking for someone to take his place.

It is normally a tendered application, however more details can be given by the Town Clerk by contacting her on 01733 351296 or clerk@whittleseytowncouncil.gov.uk

Although this has been operating for sometime, planning application has only just been submitted.

There have been numberous complaints of smells and odors – from Snoots Road residential area’s – this has and still is an ongoing investigation by FDC.

As a boy I was brought up and schooled in Coates, I still love the village and its community. Development over the years have changed somethings.
I am not sure ‘if’ the local residents are very supportive of The Coates Village Store, which has been there all my life and I collected my daily papers to be delivered in Eastrea during the 1960’s.
The proposed (Ankers) site has been in a derelict condition for many years.
