Congratulations To Peterborough NHW

Whittlesey NHW has been going for some 13 years, I have been Chairman for 12 years.
To find out a lot more please visit our very good website…
(There was a group before the present one, but was disbanded)

https://www.whittleseynhw.org.uk/en/

It was a day of celebration on Saturday as Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) members celebrated 40 years of Neighbourhood Watch and 30 years of the Neighbourhood Watch Peterborough Association.
The anniversary was celebrated at the annual members meeting, with over 30 members present, and Superintendent Neil Billany who joined in with the fun 🥳🍰
Eight presentations were made by Supt Billany to neighbourhood watch coordinators – three of them had been in the group since day one back in September 1982!
Supt Billany said: “We have an incredible Neighbourhood Watch scheme across Peterborough and throughout the surrounding area and it was a pleasure to join our co-ordinators as they celebrated the anniversary.
“Building safer communities relies on good information coming into the police, and our Neighbourhood Watches provide a critical bridge between the public and the police, both in terms of reporting issues to us, but also in terms of passing on messages around emerging issues and crime prevention.
“It was especially pleasing to take the opportunity to thank Alan Paul publicly for the continued hard work he has put in to NHW here and to celebrate his recent success winning the Cambridgeshire Police volunteer of the year.”

Why use web chat?

Yesterday, call handlers in our Demand Hub received 1,171 calls to 101. We aim to receive a thorough report from every caller so we can take the appropriate course of action. This can take time and can mean that during peak periods, there will be a waiting time to speak with an operator (unless it’s an emergency).

However, with our live web chat, you can speak to an operator in as little as 27 seconds. Reports of incidents are dealt with in the exact same way whether you phone 101 or speak to us on web chat; the only difference is the technology used.

Last month alone, we helped 3,267 people with web chat. If you need to quickly and easily report crime and intelligence, live web chat can be accessed by visiting the force’s website and clicking the green chat icon in the bottom right of the screen, or by visiting our dedicated live chat page.

Similarly, if you are pressed for time, hard of hearing or can’t talk freely, our online reports can be used to raise crimes or submit intelligence.

If you have used online reports or web chat recently, please tell us about your experience by replying to this alert.
